A marketing strategist and local business owner turned Realtor®, Katie has an entrepreneurial spirit and loves to make a positive impact in people’s lives through her work.
She spent years marketing for top brands like Bank of America and Volkswagen, but wanted to have more involvement in her community. So she switched gears and founded Biker Barre, a Capitol Hill cycling and barre studio. The studio was an instant success and once it was up and running, Katie grew hungry again for a new challenge.
Upon getting her real estate license to buy her own home (as one does), Katie realized she had stumbled into the perfect role for her personality and skill set. Hard skills like developing a marketing strategy, managing negotiations, and conducting property valuations are part of Katie’s DNA. But the soft skills are where she thrives. After 7+ years of running a fitness studio with 45+ staff members and 12k+ clients, Katie knows a thing or two about customer service, managing a team, and making sure everyone feels heard and served.
Katie has consistently been a top producing agent, recognized year after year in the Washingtonian for her success. During the pandemic, working alone didn’t work anymore and Katie felt the need to build a team of like-minded agents. She sought to build a team of agents who care deeply about the impact they can have on their clients. Agents who work by referral (an indicator of the quality of their work), have similar moral compasses, and an almost pathological attention to detail. Collective Property Consultants was born and has grown to be one of the top teams in Washington.
Katie holds a BA and MBA from the University of Michigan. She’s the past president of the Business School Alumni Club of DC. Her husband Andrew is also a crazy entrepreneur type, having founded Charm City Meadworks and now working in M&A for a large alcohol distribution company. Their daughter Genevieve and dog Harley are the ones who really rule the roost.
